Artist Bio
Emmet Woulfe is an oil and acrylic painter who is particularly interested in portraiture. He attended the Ontario College of Art and Design University in Toronto, receiving a BFA in Drawing and Painting. Now living in Ottawa, Emmet attends Herzing College for animation.

Artist Statement
The aspect of portrait painting that I enjoy the most is the expressive nature of lighting on the human figure. Faces contain a myriad of colours that can evoke anything from attraction to deep discomfort. In particular, I like to explore the painfully awkward aspects of human nature. Often focusing on puberty, I set out to express the shame and anger we all hold within as maturing young adults.
